While using it hunting, the handle to the bolt flew out, I found the bolt, re-inserted it, but could not rack the bolt back to load the gun. I've tried field stripping the gun, taking the barrel off, bolt out and trigger assembly off and reassembling the gun.The thing about the Sportsman 48 compared to my Auto-5 is that the Remington buttstock end is dimensionally smaller than the Browning (both are 12 ga.). I got one of those "universal fit" lace-up pads and it looked real nice but it was way to small w/o making a major modification so I just returned it.Location: West Texas. There was a whole thread somewhere, was it shotgun world, about the 11-48 (the Sportsman 48 is the the 3 shot version of the 11-48 ) shucking the operating handle and how to fix it.
