All numbers match, including internal small parts, except for a WWII magazine, and grips. The four-digit serial number is 10XX with no suffix letter. The right receiver has the normal German military receiver proofs of 1914-1918.These have what looks like a VOPO X cross-out mark on the right grip, while the left grip has Eagle/N proofs, which I think are commercial Mauser proofs. The checkering apears finer than typical Masuer luger grips. They fit a VOPO marked Mauser frame that came with it and some other parts. The old, small Fred Datig "Monograph IV - The Swiss Variations 1897 - 1947" is also a good read but done in 1955 and mostly superceded by the Bobba work.I am considering buying this gun from a friend of mine. All serial numbers are matching, in and out, except for the magazine. It's 1916. One unusual feature -- it has "Made in Germany" stamped right under the imperial acceptance marks on the right side. Safety reads "GESICHERT".
