Michael Burnette is Galax’s new city manager starting Sept. 18, as announced at this month’s Galax City Council meeting. Burnette said he comes to Galax from his previous job as assistant county administrator in Franklin County. Galax’s previous city manager, Barry Moore, stepped down earlier this year due to health concerns.
