Animate dead bg3

Animate Dead not working after patch. BUGS. So I downloaded the new patch this morning and when I got into game I tried to summon my skelly archers. Every time they're summoned they spawn without bows. I tried this on Tav and on Shadowheart and the spawn failed. I even loaded up an earlier save when I had my summons with their bows to test.

The Animate Dead spell creates zombies and skeletons from corpses/skeletons. The Create Undead Spell creates Ghouls from corpses. These 3 undead monsters are very weak. Zombies and skeletons are CR 1/4 and Ghouls are CR 1. Can someone explain to me why a wizard of level 7 or above would spend spell slots on these weak monsters?
