Abstract. This chapter introduces the Kantian conception of right in war, arguing that Kant regards peace as the principle through which everything about war must be judged. The Kantian position is contrasted with two other ways of thinking about war. The just war tradition conceives of war as an enforcement action against wrongdoer.
