Yes, it's possible! I was dilated between 1-2 cm at 32 weeks, and when I went in for my induction at 39 weeks I was at 3cm dilated. I really didn't feel contractions but I was apparently having them! My OB told me that at 4cm is when they start wanting to keep you at L&D. 1.
